What to Do in a Crisis: A Guide for Parents

When your child is experiencing a crisis, whether it’s due to a drug overdose, alcohol poisoning, domestic or relationship violence, or a mental health issue, it can feel overwhelming. Knowing where to turn and what to do can be crucial.

B-PEN has created a helpful one-page tip sheet that provides essential information for navigating a crisis. This resource is designed to help you:

  • Identify key resources: Find contact information for emergency services and mental health crisis lines.
  • Understand the protocols: Learn about the steps to take during a crisis.

This tip sheet is a valuable tool to have on hand during a crisis. Print it out and keep it in a readily accessible location, such as your refrigerator or your wallet, so you can easily refer to it when needed.

Remember: You are not alone. Help is available. If you or your child are experiencing an emergency, please reach out for assistance immediately.
