‘Twas the Night Before Winter Break at BHS

Your BHS PTO wishes everyone a safe and peaceful winter break. Before we sign off for the year, we wanted to share a festive poem with you, inspired by quotes from parents (below) who shared how the PTO has impacted their lives and their students’ lives. While it is crafted in the spirit of a classic holiday tale, its purpose is to highlight and appreciate the wonderful contributions and shared spirit of the BHS community!

‘Twas the night before winter break, and all through BHS,
Not a student was stirring, no worries, no stress.
The halls were adorned with festive cheer,
As parents and teachers drew ever near.
For in the heart of this vibrant place,
The PTO and its good work had set the pace.

New families like Marina’s felt at home,
With each event, no longer alone.
Her children, once nervous, now eagerly wait,
For PTO gatherings that connect and captivate.

With winter’s chill in the air, Ayanna’s daughter’s dreams,
Of the freshman welcome, junior semi, ATPP, and flag football teams.
Her heart filled with traditions, both old and new,
For these moments, thanks to the PTO, forever true.

Behind the scenes, parents like Ryan and Grady peek,
Through PTO opportunities, finding what they seek.
Gaining insight into school life every day,
Feeling connected, understanding teachers and staff in a whole new way.

Susie’s vision, broad and grand,
Brought staff and teachers’ dreams to life, lending a hand.
Innovative programs that enrich and inspire,
Fueled by family contributions and the PTO’s unwavering desire.

Jennie and Sang marvel at the growing bonds,
The community deepens as each one responds.
Building networks that support, nurture, and care,
Creating memories and friendships beyond compare.

And Jeff, reflecting, finds personal fulfillment,
In shaping events and connections so reminiscent.
The PTO brings rewards diverse,
In friendships built, a blessing, not a curse.

But as the year comes to a close, one thing’s clear,
The PTO needs your help, your generosity, your cheer.
So give what you can, as holiday bells ring,
To support the PTO and the joy they bring.

For the PTO’s impact is felt all around,
In every student, teacher, and parent they’ve found.
For every donation, both big and small,
Will ensure that BHS continues to thrive for all.

“As we began at BHS in 10th grade, my kids are looking forward to events organized by the PTO to feel more connected to their peers and the school community. In the past, the PTO’s support for teacher grants provided new tools for the classroom that improved my kids’ learning experience.”

“Being on the PTO board has been a rewarding experience. I’ve had the opportunity to play a direct role in shaping school events, connect with amazing teachers, and give back to the BHS community in meaningful ways. I’ve also built stronger connections not just with the school but with my own child. Plus, the PTO has been an excellent way to meet other parents, make new friends, and build a supportive network I truly value.”
